* Walter Damrosch was a longtime summer resident of Bar Harbor until he lost his house in the great fire of 1947. Choir member and former MDSC President David Damrosch is among his descendants. The piece is originally an organ chorale prelude that Damrosch arranged for symphony orchestra and chorus.

George Emlen was MDSC Music Director from 1982 through 1999.
