Our 2012 program is entitled: Heart-stopping choruses! Concerts will be on August 4 and 5, 2012 at St. Saviour's Episcopal Church Bar Harbor, ME Also... Sunday July 15... an open community singing of Handel's Messiah 7pm at St. Saviour's Church in Bar Harbor. Come as you are and we'll sing straight through selected portions of Messiah. Scores provided; small donation requested. Make note of the date and join us for a fun evening! Led by David Schildkret.

Sing with us in our 2012 concerts Our 70 member choir is under the direction of Arizona State University music professor David Schildkret. No auditions. Rehearsals run from late June to early August. The fee covers all materials (musical scores and study materials to be shipped to you as soon as they become available). Scholarships / fee waivers are available to student singers and in certain other hardship circumstances, and are made possible by the Al and Eva Meyer Scholarship Fund. To be considered, please indicate on your registration form and do not send payment. We have a web page set aside for singers only. It includes all the study audio as well as recordings of past concerts, a directory for helping singers get acquainted, plus documents for use by the Board. Most seasons we tackle a single major choral work; sometimes shorter pieces are done too. Participants are year-rounders as well as summer residents. The Summer Chorale was founded in 1968 at St. Mary's church in Northeast Harbor. Over the years a number of distinguished vocal soloists and instrumentalists have performed with us. We're a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation, and grants and contributions of any size are gratefully accepted in support of our yearly programs.
