We invite you to add more great music to your life by joining
us to sing this summer.
The Mount Desert Summer Chorale has some 70 members. Under the direction of
Arizona State University music professor
David Schildkret, the Chorale
prepares a major work during 6 weeks or so each summer on Mount Desert Island, Maine.
Performances take place the first weekend in August, with guest
soloists and professional instrumentalists.
No audition is required. It's a limited 6-week commitment, from late June to early August.
Because of the short time frame, consistent rehearsal attendance is necessary (see our
rehearsal calendar).
What better thing to accomplish this summer than to learn some new pieces, improve
your vocal technique, get to know some fellow singers, strive for performance excellence before an
appreciative audience, and share a chuckle or two along the way? We invite you to sign up now!
Please print the registration form and mail to:

Info for 2010:
The tentative calendar and program can be seen here.
Dues for 2010 are $45 per singer before June 10th, $50 after June 10th.
Your dues cover all musical scores and study CDs.
We'll ship your materials as soon as possible.
The first rehearsal is Wednesday, June 30, at 7pm at St. Saviour's church in Bar Harbor.
As an added bonus, registered singers get free admission to our
2010 special events this summer.
Most of the musical scores are rented copies this year, so please treat carefully and mark only in pencil.
When you register, you'll have the opportunity to select your study CD preference.
Select "audio CD set" if you prefer to use a standard CD player and find your way
around by track number.
Select "data CD" if you prefer using a computer or ipod (etc.) to listen.
For those who could do either, the
data CD is recommended (everything fits on 1 disk, you get all parts,
ease of navigation). The study audio is a bit more complicated than usual this
year due to some split parts and multiple versions provided.
